About Me: Lindsay received her BA in Chemistry and BS in Biology from Texas A&M. She worked as a 911 dispatcher throughout undergraduate, where she started to develop an interest in critical care. She continued with Texas A&M for her Doctor of Pharmacy, where she also worked as a pharmacy technician with Baylor Scott & White. This solidified her enthusiasm for inpatient pharmacy, and she was guided by her mentors to pursue residency. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys catching up with friends at new restaurants, country dancing with her husband, and spending time with her dog, Kovos. 

Why Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center: Lindsay's interest in Baylor St Luke's stemmed from their strong reputation for critical care, cardiology, and transplant. After meeting the pharmacy department, she discovered how supportive and welcoming the environment was. Additionally, having had multiple mentors who completed residency at BSLMC, she knew this would be an excellent program to begin her clinical career.

Hanh Do, PharmD

Current Research: Evaluation of clinical outcomes of micafungin for the treatment of candidemia in patients with and without liver cirrhosis

About Me: Hanh received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and is currently a PGY1 resident at BSLMC. Her clinical interests include infectious diseases and internal medicine. Following postgraduate training, Hanh intends to obtain a clinical position at an academic medical center, where she can merge her passion for patient care with teaching and mentoring future students. Outside of pharmacy, Hanh enjoys watching Asian dramas, capturing travel moments through photography, and finding relaxation in assembling LEGO sets.

Why Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center: Hanh was interested in Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center because of its renowned reputation and the opportunity for professional growth. Hanh was particularly excited about the diverse clinical opportunities available, which will further refine her skills in patient care. Vivian Pham, PharmD

Current Research: The effects of fluconazole on immunosuppressants in liver transplant recipients

About Me: Vivian received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from University of Texas at Dallas and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. Her professional interests include solid organ transplantation, internal medicine, and ambulatory care. Vivian plans to complete a PGY-2 residency training in one of these specialty areas upon completion of her PGY1 year at BSLMC. After postgraduate training, Vivian plans on becoming a clinical specialist at a large academic medical center and precept future pharmacy students. In her free time, Vivian loves playing pickleball and golf, going to music festivals, and spending time with friends and family.

Why Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center: Vivian became interested in Baylor St. Luke's PGY1 residency due to the wide variety of rotations and diverse patient population from being located within Texas Medical Center. The program provides her with the opportunity to continue to grow and expand her clinical knowledge due to the diverse and complex patient population seen at Baylor St. Luke.

Quynh Nguyen, PharmD

Current Research: Assessing myelosuppression in PJP prophylactic regimens in AML patients treated with purine analogues

About Me: Quynh received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy and is currently a PGY1 resident at BSLMC. His clinical interests include hematology and oncology and intends to pursue further training with a PGY-2 residency. Quynh's professional goal is to become a pharmacy specialist in oncology at a large academic medical center and precept future students. In her free time, Quynh enjoys playing guitar, spending time with friends and loved ones, and weight training.

Why Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center: Quynh chose Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center as it is an academic institution within the largest medical center in the world, affording lots of opportunities for collaboration and learning. BSLMC serves a complex and diverse patient population, allowing for a challenging but supportive environment to strengthen and refine clinical decision-making skills. Quynh also values opportunities for mentorship and teaching through the Teaching and Scholarship in Academia program and layered learning. All of these experiences will help her achieve her goals of emerging as a well-rounded pharmacist, engaging in teaching and preceptorship, and advocating for the profession through patient-centered care.

About Me: Kevin earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and is currently completing his PGY1 residency at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (BSLMC). With a strong interest in critical care and nutrition support, he plans to pursue a PGY2 residency to further his training. His ultimate goal is to become a critical care pharmacy specialist at a large academic medical center, where he hopes to also mentor and precept future pharmacy students. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys baking, exploring new restaurants, and playing video games.

Why Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center: Kevin's connection to BSLMC began during his IPPE experience at the institution, where he was drawn to the hospital’s diverse patient population and unique clinical opportunities. His interest in critical care aligned well with the variety of acute care rotations offered, allowing him to further explore his passion. The program’s emphasis on precepting and mentoring, along with multiple longitudinal project opportunities, made BSLMC the ideal place for Kevin to enhance his clinical skills and work toward his career goals.

Anisha Panakezham, PharmD

About Me: Anisha received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and is currently a PGY1 resident at BSLMC. Her clinical interests include internal medicine and solid organ transplant. Upon completion of her PGY1, Anisha intends to obtain a clinical pharmacist position at an academic medical center where she can be involved in direct patient care and can precept students and residents. In her free time, Anisha enjoys spending time with her loved ones by cooking together or watching movies in addition to exploring Houston’s restaurants.

Why Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center: Anisha became interested in BSLMC as a student as she progressed through different rotations in smaller community hospitals and a larger academic medical center. She wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to train in the largest medical center in the world, and knew BSLMC’s program would offer access to diverse patient populations and various levels of care. Anisha knew she would be able to practice and grow her clinical skills while also being able to precept and mentor pharmacy students. She was confident that the program would prepare her for a career as a clinical pharmacist.
