Mark Mettauer, MD, cardiothoracic surgeon, is the Cardiovascular Surgery Director.
About Dr. Mettauer
Dr. Mettauer completed his cardiovascular surgery residency under the late Dr. Denton A. Cooley at Texas Heart Institute at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston before beginning his practice in the North Houston community. In 2005, he performed the first quadruple bypass at St. Luke’s Health–The Woodlands Hospital. Dr. Mettauer has been serving the North Houston and St. Luke's Health - The Woodlands Hospital for 16 years and recently joined Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Group and Woodlands North Houston Heart Center.
He is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and has served as a National Board Member of the AHA Science & Hospital Accreditation Committee and President of the Montgomery County Chapter of the American Heart Association. His professional interests include minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic surgery, peripheral vascular disease and endovascular techniques
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, outdoor sports and activities, graphite sketching, and traveling.
