Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center Celebrates 500th Liver Transplant - More Than any Hospital in Houston Over the Last Eight Years
Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center announced today that it has reached a Houston milestone—its 500th liver transplantation.
The entire transplant team at Baylor St. Luke's celebrated the achievement under the leadership of John. A. Goss, MD, surgical director, Liver Transplant Program, associate chief, Abdominal Transplantation, and Rise Stribling, MD, medical director, Liver Transplant Program.
Over the last eight years, between January 1, 2006, and December 31, 2013, Baylor St. Luke's has completed more liver transplants than any other hospital in Houston.
“It's a very nice feeling to know that we've led the way within the Texas Medical Center when it comes to liver transplantation, and helped so many patients,” said Dr. Goss. “We feel like we have the best liver transplant team in Texas, and this milestone is a testament to their hard work and dedication.”
