Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center Opens its Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Service Line at the New McNair Campus
New campus will be the future home of Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center
HOUSTON (June 25, 2019) – Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (Baylor St. Luke’s) announced today that it is opening its Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation service lines at the new Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center – McNair Campus (McNair Campus), signaling the start of a multi-year process to move all service lines and offerings to the campus. In the interim, the McNair Campus will support sports medicine, joint replacements, hand and foot surgeries, and rehabilitation.
“We are excited to expand our orthopedic and rehabilitation capabilities to the McNair Campus, commencing the eventual move of our flagship hospital and service line offerings to the new campus,” said Doug Lawson, Ph.D., chief executive officer of CHI Texas Division and president of Baylor St. Luke’s. “This has been years in the making and we look forward to continuing to deliver quality, compassionate care to patients in a new state-of-the-art facility.”
Seven new integrated surgical suites will be open at the new campus, all serving the orthopedics unit. Additionally, 12 pre-operation beds, 30 inpatient orthopedic beds, 16 post-anesthesia care unit beds and 30 inpatient rehabilitation beds will also open. The expansion allows for more room at Baylor St. Luke’s current location for inpatient care.
This announcement comes after opening imaging and radiology, pharmacy, laboratory services, clinical engineering, central supply, emergency support services, medical records and inpatient food services earlier this year.
The McNair Campus is located at 7200 Cambridge Street.
