St. Luke's Health and UnitedHealthcare Renew Network Relationship

Posted in:

St. Luke’s Health and UnitedHealthcare have announced a renewed relationship that provides continued in-network access to care at St. Luke’s Houston facilities and with its physicians for all people enrolled in a UnitedHealthcare individual, employer-sponsored, Medicare or Medicaid plan. This renewed relationship will also allow both parties to continue working in collaboration to make healthcare more accessible and affordable for the Houston community.

“When we look to renew a relationship, it’s essential that the main focus always remains on doing what’s best for patients,” said Michael Covert, President and CEO of St. Luke’s Health. “We’ve worked very diligently with UnitedHealthcare to reach this agreement, and we’re pleased with the contract we now have in place. Going forward, we will be better positioned to focus on value-based care initiatives, expanding access to care, reinvesting in technology, and recruiting the best medical professionals possible. We’re excited to continue our partnership with UnitedHealthcare and seek out new opportunities to improve Houston’s healthcare landscape.”

“We appreciate the important role St. Luke’s Health plays as a local provider of health care services, and we are grateful for its commitment to improving health care quality and reducing costs,” said David Milich, CEO, UnitedHealthcare of South Texas. “Our renewed relationship will lay the foundation for continued collaboration and will ensure thousands of people in the Houston area continue to receive quality care.”

In Texas, UnitedHealthcare serves more than 4 million people enrolled in individual, employer-sponsored and Medicare health plans.
