St. Luke's Health Announces New President for The Vintage Hospital
Houston, TX (August 10, 2016) – St. Luke's Health (St. Luke's) has named Roland Cruickshank, FACHE, President of The Vintage Hospital effective September 12. Cruickshank will replace current president, Norman Stephens, who will retire on September 2 after nearly 40 years of service in the health care industry—the last four years at The Vintage. Cruickshank joins St. Luke's from Houston Methodist Texas Medical Center where he served as Vice President, Operations.
“Roland is a proven strategic, visionary leader,” said Michael McBride, Division Senior Vice President and President Suburban Hospitals, St. Luke's Health. “With over 20 years of health care experience, Roland brings the expertise needed to optimize service offerings and maximize our system resources in Northwest Houston. His enthusiasm and passion for this role will help build productive, collaborative relationships with employees, physicians, and the community.”
During his tenure at Houston Methodist, Cruickshank oversaw various departments and helped enhance the hospital's service line offerings—increasing revenue, volumes, and patient satisfaction for groups such as Hospitalist Services, Oncology, Bariatric Surgery, and Women Services. In addition, he led planning and development efforts on several multi-million dollar capital expansions.
Cruickshank brings with him experience from all sectors of health care, including for profit, non-profit and faith-based systems, including serving as Market Chief Operating Officer at Catholic Healthcare Partners' Mercy Hospital where he led 17 departments and 500 employees at two hospital campuses in Cincinnati, Ohio; Chief Operating Officer at Phoenixville (PA) Hospital, part of Community Health Systems; and Chief Operating Officer at Tenet Healthcare's South Fulton Medical Center in Atlanta, GA.
“This is truly an exciting time to be part of St. Luke's Health,” said Cruickshank. “I strongly believe in the organization's mission to build healthier communities and look forward to working with St. Luke's network of care to provide strategic direction for The Vintage Hospital. The Northwest Houston community is vastly growing and I am committed to positioning St. Luke's The Vintage Hospital as a leader in health care.”
Cruickshank earned a Master of Health Administration from Medical University of South Carolina, a Master of Public Affairs from the University of South Carolina, and Bachelor of Arts from College of Charleston in South Carolina.
