St. Luke's Health Appoints New Texas Division Vice President of Innovation
St. Luke's Health (St. Luke’s) has appointed Avery Cloud, as its Vice President of Innovation for the CHI Texas Division, effective immediately. Cloud previously served as St. Luke’s Regional Chief Information Officer. In this new role, Cloud will lead St. Luke’s operations focused on technology and business innovation, IT strategic planning and execution, clinical engineering, biomedical informatics, performance excellence, and continued integration.
“Avery has established a solid record of leading high-performance IT operations in complex, multi-entity organizations focused on results-driven strategic development and technology innovation since joining St. Luke’s in 2014,” said Michael H. Covert, Chief Executive Officer, St. Luke’s Health. “With Avery’s guidance, we will continue to take our IT and business operations to new heights.”
Cloud will serve as the liaison with St. Luke’s and Catholic Health Initiatives’ IT leaders to ensure stability of our IT operations and that our IT strategic goals are on track—building on the innovative momentum he created as Regional CIO.
“CHI St. Luke’s is growing tremendously and I look forward to playing a key role as we continue to expand throughout Southeast Texas,” said Cloud. “Our strategic vision for technology innovation will give us the platform to think outside the box to provide quality healthcare and meet the needs of the communities we serve.”
Prior to joining St. Luke’s, Cloud held the position of Senior Vice President and CIO of Novant Health System in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; as well as, Vice President and CIO at both Integris Health System in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Cloud earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Management from Rutledge College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
