St. Luke’s Health-Memorial Lufkin Volunteer Auxiliary Awards $10,000 in Scholarships

Most days visitors can smell the delicious aroma of popcorn as soon as they enter St. Luke’s Health-Memorial Lufkin.  The smell comes from the Memorial Volunteer Auxiliary popcorn machine.  Funds raised through the sales of popcorn go toward scholarships that are awarded annually to students pursuing a health care related degree.  During a recent reception, the volunteers awarded $10,000 in scholarships to ten deserving area students.  Pictured (back, left to right) Don Newland, Auxiliary President; Julie Warren, RN, selection committee; Whitney Flournoy; Gabriel Vasquez, Jr.; Tristan Sims (front, left to right) Kimberly Divins; Darcie Dubler; Jarrad Grumbles, RN, selection committee and Gloria Gregory, Auxiliary Vice-President (not pictured: LeeAnn Dukes, Lauren Flournoy, Marci Jan Moore, Kristen Neal, Morgan P.
