Hospital hosts meet-and-greet for new doctors

As the need for health care coverage continues, the medical community in Lufkin also continues to grow with the addition of 11 doctors at Memorial Medical Center-Lufkin. The new physicians met for lunch Wednesday to get to know more of the medical staff. For some, like Dr. Alan Bassin, it was the first day on the job. The general surgeon came to Lufkin from Coral Springs, Fla., after 11 years of practice there.
