Long Term Care Representatives Meet at Memorial Medical Center-Lufkin

Representatives from nursing homes across deep East Texas gathered at Memorial Medical Center-Lufkin for the quarterly long term outreach meeting Thursday. Nursing home staffs came from San Augustine, Lufkin, Woodville, Corrigan, Center and Kirbyville. Memorial works closely with long term care centers in East Texas when it comes to quality patient care, and these quarterly meetings are just one example of how the local hospital strives to enhance communication between the entities.

Podiatry surgeon Jason Reel, DPM, MD, of East Texas Foot Associates, was the meeting’s featured speaker. Dr. Reel specializes in podiatric medical and surgical treatments and managing and healing chronic wounds related to the feet. He treats patients at The Wound Care Advantage of East Texas, located inside Memorial Medical Center – Lufkin. At Thursday’s meeting, he addressed the latest in wound care technology.
