Memorial Medical Center - Lufkin Volunteers Aide in Nursing Education
The Volunteer Auxiliary at Memorial Medical Center – Lufkin recently donated a HeartCode® ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) program to the hospital’s Education Department. This program is an official, self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program from the American Heart Association. Ashley London, Memorial Medical Center—Lufkin Education Administrator, explains to Volunteer Auxiliary members Judy Kocar and Don Newland how manikins provided with the program can be used. Contributions, such as the ACLS education program, are made possible through the volunteers’ fund raising efforts. To date the volunteers have raised more than 1 million dollars by jewelry, scrub, popcorn and gift shop sales.
