Memorial Medical Center-Lufkin welcomes Perioperative Services Director
Memorial Medical Center-Lufkin welcomes its new Director of Perioperative Services, Stephanie Strickland, RN, MSN, CNOR. Strickland comes from North Hills Hospital near Dallas where she also served as Director of Perioperative Services.
Perioperative Services encompass the entire surgical experience at Memorial. Strickland will work with Memorial surgeons, anesthesiologists and perioperative staff members to insure that patients receive the utmost in quality care offered at the Lufkin hospital.
Prior to serving as director at North Hills Hospital, Strickland held leadership positions in perioperatives services at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway, Arkansas, Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview and Christus Schumpert Highland Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.
“Stephanie brings a strong clinical foundation as both a Surgical Technologist and Registered Nurse,” said Peggy Mortensen, Memorial’s Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operations Officer. “Because of her leadership roles in the past, Stephanie will bring new and innovative ideas to Memorial, and we are pleased to have her here.”
Strickland earned her Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and a Master of Science in Nursing at Loyola University in New Orleans. She has also achieved CNOR Certification (Certified Nurse Operating Room).
