Memorial Medical Center-San Augustine HomeCare Supervisor Retires
After nearly 40 years of dedicated service, Memorial Medical Center—San Augustine HomeCare Supervisor Sandy Newman, RN, (right), retired on Jan. 1, 2012. Newman began working at Memorial in 1970 as the overnight nurse in the San Augustine hospital. In 1982, Newman joined the newly created HomeCare department.
“I think HomeCare was my true calling,” Newman said. “You really get to be involved with the patient and the responsibilities that come along with caring for those patients.”
Newman said now she has plans to renovate her home, see her children and “keep busy.”
San Augustine Administrator Darlene Williams, (left), and others helped Newman celebrate her retirement at a party in her honor.
