Pioneer in Robotic Urological Procedures Opens Medical Practice at Memorial

Memorial Health System of East Texas welcomes Dr. David Price, Urologist, to its medical staff.  Dr. Price brings extensive experience in robotic prostatectomies and other urologic procedures. He has performed more than 700 robotic surgical procedures.

 

As a pioneer in laparoscopic prostatectomy procedure research and implementation, Dr. Price founded the first Laparoscopic Robotic surgery program in the Ark-La-Tex region (Shreveport) in 2003 as well as in Longview and was a part of the initial training at Memorial Medical Center—Lufkin. Additionally, Dr. Price recently performed Lufkin’s first laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (partial removal of a kidney) using the da Vinci robot. 

Dr. Price has written and published multiple abstracts, manuscripts, book chapters and conducted numerous clinical trials on urologic conditions and procedures. A graduate of Louisiana State University Medical School, Dr. Price went on to complete his surgery internship, surgical residency training and fellowship in urology and urologic oncology at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Price now is seeing patients in his Lufkin office. Located at 1111 Frank Avenue Suite 303, Dr. Price’s office is within Memorial on the third floor of the Cardwell Professional Building. Patients can be referred to him by calling 936-632-0074.
