Volunteer Auxiliary at Memorial Health System of East Texas Give Nurses a Lift

Posted in:

Accurate patient weight and the ability to transfer a patient are two important aspects of patient care.  The Volunteer Auxiliary at Memorial Health System of East Texas recently purchased a Hoyer Patient Lift for nurses to use when moving patients who are incapable of any movement and those that are harder to lift.  Jane Newland, RN; Carlee Phillips, PCT; Sophia Hill, PCT and TJ Mayo, RN, recently thanked the Volunteers, represented by Don Newland, MHSET Volunteer Auxiliary President, Eloise Richardson, Nell Harty and Gloria Gregory for their generous donation.  The hydraulic powered lift will also be used to obtain more accurate patient weights which are important in the safe dosing of certain critical medications.
