Weight Loss Center Opens at Patient Medical Center

PASADENA, Texas (Sept. 18, 2018) – St. Luke's Health–Patients Medical Center (Patients Medical Center) announced today the opening of the Weight Loss Center now offering advanced and comprehensive medical care and services for severely obese patients, including surgical and non-surgical options, minimally invasive procedures, highly specialized physicians, and the latest technology.

"We're thrilled to open the Weight Loss Center and attend the need of the community with this state-of-the-art program," said Dr. Rizwan Chaudhry, a laparoscopic, bariatric, and general surgeon at the facility. "Our multidisciplinary team of surgeons, specialists, nurses, and medical professionals offer comprehensive and personalized compassionate care using the latest technology and evidence-based treatments to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients."

Obesity can be a complicated chronic disease with a variety of factors that leads to other diseases, including diabetes, sleep apnea, and acid reflux. Patients can expect a holistic approach to their treatment and services at the Weight Loss Center, including meeting with a nutritionist, fitness specialist, psychologist, and therapist to address all factors that may contribute to a severely overweight condition.

Led by Dr. Chaudhry, the medical team specializes in bariatric surgery, gastroenterology, sleep disorders, and cardiology and can provide a variety of treatments options. Dr. Chaudhry is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and trained at some of the most prestigious institutions in the nation, including the world-famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
